It is the middle of the summer and the kids are bored. How they are bored I don’t know. They have toys, video games and lots of friends. It is their first summer vacation in the US, you would think that they would never get bored.
So after a morning of completing their chores and 1 hour of reading and writing homework we made plans to head off to the Longmont Library.
Now the library in our town is an awesome place for kids to go to. Brandon, Danny and EV all love going to the library as there is loads to do.
Once at the library I lose Brandon. He takes off to the teen section I guess. The great thing about our library is that I feel 100% comfortable with him having a wander around unsupervised. He is a good kid who is smart and I am lucky I can trust him not to get in trouble.
EV and Danny head straight to the Lego area set up in the library. It is a cool area which also has a puppet stage, and a model train set.
There is a big table for kids to build on. I have to say it is an awesome area for the kids.
It is a great break from video and it allows them to be creative. I love watching them build and talk about what they are building. Though there are a few small disagreements they seem to work together building houses, cars and mega robots.
The public library has become one of our favorite spots to go in the summer time. The kids can play, explore and energize their brains and parents can sit and relax and catch up with some reading.
