King of the Hill

Danny Brewington, sledding

January brings with it snow here in Colorado; this kind of weather is to be expected in January.  This morning we woke to a fresh coat of soft snow.  After a quick clean of our driveway and sidewalks, the boys and I decided to hit the big hill next to the middle school. To our surprise, we were the first to hit the hill.  The Brewington Boys will be the first, kings of the hill, trailblazers making the first grooves in the freshly fallen

The Train

This week my family and I were decorating the house getting it ready for Christmas, and my job was to put the star on top of the tree and to put together the mechanical "Train" that goes under the tree.  So first I tried it out, and it turned out great, but then slowly it went down hill. A piece came off the I could not put it back so I asked my dad if he could fix it but he

What a Difference a Year Makes.

Wow what a difference a year makes.  I look back over the last year since last Thanksgiving and I can only thank God for all he has done for me and my family.  It was around this time last year that I had no idea how I was going to pay my bills.  Things were not going well, things with our move had taken a turn for the worst.  With my back against the wall I said a simple prayer,

Tennis Anyone?

The Brewington clan has decided to take up tennis in hopes of living a healthier lifestyle.  Considering Longmont has 15 places you can play tennis for free with two of them are within a mile of our house it makes sense.  Tennis is a great sport for families of all ages, it's fun, and you get a great workout whether you are hitting the ball or chasing after those pesky stray shots. Ok if you are not into

Ears, Nose and Throat. Our trip to the Children’s Hospital

Happy with the news of the change in surgery.

Our trip to the Children's Hospital of Colorado I should give a little background.  Our youngest son Danny has had problems breathing and bloody noses for several years.  He also has had migraines and would vomit a lot.  In Chile, the doctors told us that he had allergies. Since moving to the States, we took the kids for a routine doctors visit. It was during this visit that the doctors discovered that he had a severely deviated septum and adenoids

T is for Toby, K is for Kitty

Our newest family member Toby sleeping...Again.

With a busy week behind us we are pleased to announce that we a have a new member to our family. It started with a photo on the website NextDoor.  You need to check out that website for your neighborhood.  On this day a photo of a kitten showed up. [caption id="attachment_36" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Toby on the website Nextdoor[/caption] My wife showed me this adorable little blurry photo and said,  "Would you like to adopt a kitten?"  I did not

Legos at the Library

It is the middle of the summer and the kids are bored.  How they are bored I don't know.  They have toys, video games and lots of friends.  It is their first summer vacation in the US, you would think that they would never get bored. So after a morning of completing their chores and 1 hour of reading and writing homework we made plans to head off to the Longmont Library. Now the library in our town is an
